Dr. Jan Heilmann has been advising clients in construction and architects’ law for over 35 years. He supports construction projects in all phases—from contract drafting and structuring, through ongoing legal advice during construction, to acceptance, as well as the enforcement and defence of claims. He works in both private and public construction law and advises in particular on contracts, construction defects/delay, and issues relating to invoices and remuneration for works.
Previously, Dr. Heilmann ran his own law firm with a focus on construction law. Dr Heilmann will be joining the MANGAL LEGAL team on 16 February 2026.

Doctorate
Dr. Jan Heilmann earned his doctorate at the University of Hamburg on the topic of warranty for defects under the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
